Summary

Pei Zi Yun, summoned by King Menestheus, reflects on an oracle's message about avoiding misfortune through his wife. The king requests his help to slay a beast terrorizing the mountains, offering a reward of 20 cattle. Meanwhile, a group plotting against Menestheus is alarmed by Paris's involvement, fearing it disrupts their plans to use the monster to pressure the king. They debate assassinating him, but one member, Demophon, opposes this, valuing Paris's assistance. Later, Pei Zi Yun experiences a prophetic nightmare about an assassination attempt, leading to a mission to capture A Ka Ma Si, son of Theseus, who is implicated in the plot against him.
