Summary

Xuanzang, a monk from the Great Tang, was also present, disturbed by the cruelty of the ritual. As the ceremony progressed, supernatural phenomena occurred, with Buddhas and demons manifesting. The Ruler and Abbot, unaware of Xuanzang's significance, proceeded with the offerings, believing they would secure prosperity for their nation. Ultimately, Xuanzang and his companions were captured and taken as offerings, highlighting the irony of the situation.
