Summary

Zhang Huan, the prefect of Cizhou, led two thousand garrison troops to support the Imperial Inspector after hearing of a potential attack. Upon reaching the Mountain God Temple, he noticed the bandits had not attacked yet and decided to rest his troops. Meanwhile, bandit leader Lv Fang, having previously defeated local troops, sought to establish his reputation by attacking the garrison. He rallied his men and charged at the exhausted soldiers. Despite the garrison's poor training and equipment, they prepared to defend themselves. Liu Chang, the garrison commander, ordered the archers to fire, but the bandits' leather armor mitigated the damage. As the battle progressed, Li Yan Qing targeted bandit leaders, significantly weakening their morale. Yue Fei engaged Lv Fang in combat, eventually forcing him to retreat. Li Yan Qing managed to wound Lv Fang as he fled. The auxiliary troops pursued the remaining bandits, killing many and only allowing a few to escape. The battle resulted in the loss of over 600 bandits, effectively diminishing the threat in the region, while Lv Fang fled alone.
