Chapter 51: Coffin. [51]

Summary

The tomb chamber, dimly lit, featured a massive white coffin and two bronze figures, creating an eerie atmosphere. The eldest brother and Brother San discovered a tianjing, a small opening in the coffin, and began to pry it open. They found layers of coffins, with the outermost being oxidized silver, which was rare from the Western Zhou period. As they opened the layers, a foul black liquid oozed out, identified as embalming fluid. Upon revealing the innermost coffin, they found it was made of pure gold, adorned with intricate patterns depicting an ancient army with four-legged snakes, linked to the legend of the ancient Yue kingdom. This discovery hinted at the tomb owner's connection to ancient shaman culture.
