Summary

Zhu Jie, a narrow-minded governor, seizes an opportunity to mock Chu Tian, a commoner, in front of the noble families at the Mei Xue Spirit Pavilion. Despite the humiliation, Chu Tian remains calm, contemplating the value of the fish before him. Zhu Jie boasts about his virtues and future success after eating the golden-scaled carp, while Zhou Liu Yun revels in Chu Tian's disgrace, seeking to spiritually torment him as revenge for his father's death. Zhou Liu Yun requests Lu Gu to play a cheerful piece, but she refuses, subtly mocking him instead.
