Chapter 50: Murong's Visit. [50]

Summary

In the royal palace, Ninth Princess Murong is furious about the prospect of an unwanted marriage, while her brother, Fourth Prince Mu Bai, remains calm, assuring her that their father won't allow it. Murong worries about the Da Shang court's inability to answer questions from Tianyu Palace and considers seeking help from Bai Wangyu, a Confucian school's top disciple. Meanwhile, at Li Yuan, Li Zi Ye feels pressured by the Confucian school's influence and is surprised when the two royals request an audience. As they discuss martial arts, Bai Wangyu suggests sparring with Mu Bai, while Murong reminds her brother to avoid serious fighting. The tension builds as Li Zi Ye navigates the royal visit and the underlying motives of those around him.
