Chapter 5: Wolf Shadow Ninja and Shrine Adventure. [4]
Summary
General Cheng, after being bitten by smaller creatures, decides to take a shower despite Taro An Ma's concerns about his wounds. A girl named Chang Lu Mo Zi, dressed as a ninja, arrives and learns about Cheng's injuries. She insists on checking him, leading to a humorous exchange about her attire. Cheng, feeling fine, is guided to the Kenji Shrine, where he encounters a shrine priest and Lady Fang Nai, the shrine maiden. They discuss the recent supernatural disturbances linked to impurities in the area. Cheng realizes the wolf he encountered is part of a recurring local phenomenon. The head priest, An Qing, reveals he is an outsider, while Fang Nai confirms the town's peace is due to her purification rituals. A doctor examines Cheng's wounds, finding them less severe than expected, and suggests he stay at the shrine for the night as a precaution.Full content
