Chapter 5: Only the Mouse Lord Has Noble Character (1). [10]

Summary

Chu Tian, riding an old yellow wolf, encounters an idle man who informs him about a new establishment called Qin Yun Ya Zhu, previously part of the Ten Thousand Flower Tower, now owned by Zhou Liu Yun, the new son-in-law of the Ling family. The idle man describes the luxurious nature of the place and its high prices, hinting at the influx of gentlemen visiting. Chu Tian, skeptical of such establishments, learns more about the courtyard's background and its connection to the local scholars. After dismissing the idle man, he navigates through Bai Zhou, observing the city's divisions between rich and poor. Eventually, he arrives at a desolate courtyard where he witnesses a plump man leaving a house. After a brief exchange, Chu Tian knocks the man unconscious with a brick, and a flash of silver light appears on his shoulder.
