Summary

Su Mo struggles to escape a copper wire formation, unable to cast his illusions. After months of captivity, he is rescued by familiar figures from the Han Dynasty. A little cultivator named Zhou Meng Xiong reveals his background, confessing that he was ordered to watch Su Mo but has never harmed him. He shares that many sorcerers were captured under false pretenses and that his fellow disciples have perished. Gui Bu Gui and others learn of the political turmoil in the Han Dynasty, including the treatment of Master Fang, labeled heretical after a rebellion. They begin their journey back to Chang'an, gathering information about the past decades.
