Summary

Mo Wuji discovers an open tombstone entrance surrounded by corpses and a rich aura of celestial spirits. He enters and finds a small square with statues and inscriptions about Wu Sheng Da Di, the Old Ancestor of the Wu Sheng Dao Sect. After exploring, he encounters a gravely injured cultivator resembling himself, named Yan Ye. Yan Ye asks Mo Wuji to impersonate him for three months to help a woman named Ji Yue escape her family. Mo Wuji initially refuses to marry Ji Yue but learns about a family favor that could facilitate the arrangement. He provides Yan Ye with elixirs to stabilize him, contemplating the implications of Yan Ye's request.
