Chapter 492: Killing the King (85). [494]
Summary
In a tense standoff at the southern gate of Nan Shang, Yuan Jun Zhang, a commander of the Heng'an Eagle Wing Army, confronts Xu Le, the leader of the Zhibibu, demanding the latter's men to lower their weapons to protect Liu Wuzhou, who is in danger. The Heng'an soldiers, seasoned veterans, quickly regain their formation, ready for conflict. Despite Xu Le's cold demeanor and threats, Yuan Jun Zhang prioritizes Liu Wuzhou's life over military pride, warning Xu Le of dire consequences if he acts against them. As the situation escalates, Luo Luo intervenes, urging restraint and reminding all parties of the potential for violence. Negotiations ensue, with Xu Le vowing to avenge his grandfather while Yuan Jun Zhang promises not to pursue him if he leaves. The atmosphere remains charged, with both sides aware that any misstep could ignite a fierce battle.Full content
