Chapter 49: First Hearing of the Holy War. [433]
Summary
Tie Xin Yuan learns about the Karakhanid army's history and their holy war against the Kingdom of Khotan. The Karakhanid army, led by Bilge Kul Qadir Khan, was formed by a tribal alliance and later established a country. They conquered the Mesopotamian region and began advancing towards the east, but were blocked by the Kingdom of Khotan. The Karakhanids later converted to a new religion and, with the support of followers, reclaimed their homeland and unified the Nine Surnames Hu people. They declared a holy war against the Kingdom of Khotan, which led to the defeat of the kingdom and the capture of its capital. Tie Xin Yuan realizes that the Karakhanids' holy war is a significant threat and that they will eventually have to face them. Wei Chi Lei believes that the Huihu people can resist the Karakhanids for at most three years, but A Da thinks that the Karakhanids' main purpose is to collect taxes and plunder, rather than to nurture and support the people.Full content
