Summary

In Yanmen County, the Turkic army besieged the city for nearly 15 days, causing significant casualties among soldiers and civilians. Emperor Yang Guang suffered from nightmares and paranoia, lashing out at his attendants. Amidst his turmoil, news arrived that the Turkic army was retreating, leading to a mix of surprise and joy for Yang Guang. General Yuwen Chengdu reported that Princess Yicheng had requested the Turks withdraw due to threats from the Western Turks and a successful raid on the Turkic supply camp, which depleted their resources. As the Turks retreated, Shibi Khan realized his efforts had failed and chose to withdraw.
