Summary

In "The Mastermind," Gao Yang confronts the shocking reality that his friend Wang Zi Kai was a mere facade of a monstrous entity. Overwhelmed by memories of their past, he grapples with grief as his companions, Qing Ling and Pang Jun, face a new threat: a hair monster emerging from the corpses around them. Despite their attempts to escape, the creature ensnares them with its black strands. As they struggle, Qing Ling makes a desperate attack, but it only provokes the monster, leading to her being fatally pierced. The group realizes they are pawns in a deadly game, trapped in a situation with no escape.
