Summary

As the morning court session concluded, officials of the Song Dynasty began to leave for the day, with many planning to go for drinks afterward. Li Yan Qing intended to visit the Hongqiao Baoyan Studio to learn about Wang Gui's situation. On his way, he encountered Chen Dong from the student faction, who sought advice on their petition to the Wending Courtyard. Li Yan Qing advised against large demonstrations and suggested they write a joint letter to attract the Empress's attention. Upon arriving at the Baoyan Studio, Li Yan Qing noticed a group of young women, including Qiqiao, who had undergone a remarkable transformation through makeup training. Qiqiao revealed that Wang Gui was at the Tang’s Inn, prompting Li Yan Qing to head there. At the inn, Li Yan Qing joyfully reunited with Wang Gui, who had been promoted to deputy commander of the Xiangzhou militia. They reminisced about their careers and discussed the challenges of military life while enjoying drinks together.
