Summary

Liu Wuzhou, tasked with welcoming the Turkic Khan, is surprised to find that the visitor is actually Kang Qiaoli, a high-ranking guard captain. They discuss a secret alliance involving Yu Wen Zhi Ji, the son of Yu Wen Shu, who has been colluding with the Turks to restore his family's status. Yu Wen Zhi Ji is tasked with delivering a letter to the Khan and is informed that he must help secure Loufan Pass for the Turkic forces. Liu Wuzhou, secretly allied with the Turks, agrees to assist in hiding troops. Meanwhile, a massacre occurs in Sanggan Town as the Turkic cavalry takes over. In Jiang Du, the Lantern Festival is celebrated, and Zhang Chuchen reflects on her loneliness and her feelings for Lu Qing as she encounters Zhang Xuan.
