Summary

In the Edo period, Hiyoshizumi Village faced the threat of youkai, leading to a fierce battle where Yan Yan Luo, a sixteen-year-old girl, fought valiantly, defeating twenty-eight youkai but sustaining grave injuries. Rumors exaggerated her strength, dubbing her "Yan Luo of Smoke." To protect her, villagers renamed her the Blind Princess. However, the Tsuchimikado family, tasked with slaying youkai, discovered her existence, leading to tragic consequences for the villagers. They deceived Yan Yan Luo about the true nature of the events, hoping to shield her from hatred. Jin Jiang Lang, an Onmyoji, was asked to protect her, recognizing her innocence and the irony of humans turning against each other while blaming youkai. He considered taking her as a shikigami, which would reveal her identity, and planned to consult his sister for guidance.
