Summary

Bai Xiao Chun attempts to blend in with a quiet crowd, adopting a cool demeanor. He enters a shop called San Hun Pavilion, where he discovers bottles containing vengeful spirits. As he examines one, a wraith's face appears, startling him and attracting the attention of other cultivators. He uses the Immortal Seal to dispel the spirits' influence. An old man explains the dangers of vengeful spirits in the area and the value of souls for cultivation. Bai Xiao Chun then visits another shop selling indigenous people, learning about their high prices and the dangers of being captured by natives outside the Great Wall. Feeling uneasy about the perilous environment, he returns to his inn and has a restless night. The next morning, he and his group leave the boundary city, facing diminishing spiritual energy and increasingly dangerous surroundings. They encounter bizarre and hostile flora and fauna, witnessing a large tree attacking a leopard and a decayed hand crushing a bird.
