Summary

Li Yan Qing and Cao Jiao Jiao head to the Wazi to buy cat food, discovering that the Song Dynasty has a thriving pet economy with dedicated shops for pet care. Cao Jiao Jiao, who is almost seven, expresses excitement about the couplets Li Yan Qing wrote for her sister, Cao Yun. They navigate the bustling market, where Cao Jiao Jiao's enthusiasm for snacks leads to a shopping spree, much to Li Yan Qing's amusement. After purchasing an abundance of treats, they finally reach a cat food shop, where Cao Jiao Jiao wants to buy supplies for her ten kittens. Li Yan Qing generously pays for everything and arranges for delivery to the Cao residence. He also gives Cao Jiao Jiao a silver ingot for candy, and she jokingly suggests he could be her brother-in-law. They part ways with a promise of more cat food in the future and a reminder for Li Yan Qing to write a couplet for her cat house.
