Summary

In the night, a group of riders, led by Captain Hui, traverses a mountain path, splitting into smaller teams. The soldiers, equipped lightly, march south without fire, relying on the moon and stars for guidance. Tensions rise when Hui halts the march abruptly, causing a near accident. A confrontation ensues between Hui and scout Jiang Huo Chang over navigation errors. Despite their heated exchange, seasoned veterans intervene to calm the situation. Wei Mao, another commander, volunteers to scout ahead, while Jiang Huo Chang expresses disdain for Hui's rise in rank.
