Summary

Li Yan Qing leaves a matchmaking gathering at Cao Fu, reflecting on the grandeur of the mansion and feeling relieved. He stops at Hongqiao Tavern, meets Mo Jun, who has arranged housing for him, and they discuss the political situation regarding the Liangshan army, which has captured Hangzhou. The next day, Li Yan Qing prepares for his first day at the Inspectorate, while his wife, Si Si, discovers a painting and book from a young girl named Cao Yun, leading her to speculate about her husband's romantic future. At the Inspectorate, Li Yan Qing is welcomed by Wang An Zhong and introduced to his colleagues. He learns he will oversee interrogations, a significant responsibility, and is introduced to Chief Clerk Zhang Xun, who will assist him in his duties.
