Summary

Ning Qiushui arrives at the Sunshine Welfare Institute, where he encounters the director wielding a blood-stained executioner's axe. He witnesses the execution of the "Water Person," a ghost bound by chains, who acknowledges its doom. Ning confronts the director about the secrets of the institute and the identity behind a mysterious copper coin. The director warns him about a dangerous figure and explains that the orphanage has become a "little hell" due to contamination from past deaths. Ning learns about the Ninth Bureau and the nature of other "Little Hells," before being advised to handle the copper coin with caution. He then jumps into an ancient well, leaving the director behind.
