Summary

Ming Du explains to Nie Feng that spirit and demon beasts can kill without grudges, emphasizing the natural order of territory. Nie Feng comforts little Yan Huang, who is upset, by promising to plant snow fruit trees. Ming Du admires Nie Feng's small world, which has expanded unexpectedly. They summon the Fire Qilin, who is initially resistant to becoming a mount. After a tense negotiation, Nie Feng offers the Fire Qilin a three-year term of servitude, promising freedom afterward. The Fire Qilin reluctantly agrees but warns of dire consequences if betrayed. They learn that escaping the complex Divine Flame Cave requires waiting for a space gate to open.
