Summary

Li Yan Qing's army occupies Yun Cheng County, a key stronghold for the Liangshan forces and the hometown of many of its generals. Song Jiang’s father, Song Tai Gong, is captured and pressured to write a letter to his son, reassuring him of his safety. Meanwhile, Li Yan Qing discovers significant supplies in the county, including grain, fodder, weapons, and money, which will bolster his army. Upon learning of the conquest, Song Jiang is distraught, realizing the implications for his family's safety and the security of Liangshan. He reflects on the strategic maneuvering of the enemy, led by Zhong Shi Dao, and considers the need to retreat to protect his forces. Wu Yong suggests launching an offensive, but Song Jiang leans towards retreating. Their discussion is interrupted by news of enemy activity nearby, prompting Song Jiang to prepare his troops for action.
