Summary

Chai Jin is forced to negotiate with Wang Ying for food, feeling humiliated. Wang Ying proposes an unfair exchange of troops for food, leading to Chai Jin's refusal. Wang Ying, however, captures Chai Jin and his allies, Shi Jin and Shi Xiu, binding them and dismissing their protests. After being freed, the three decide to seek help from Song Jiang. Meanwhile, Wang Ying takes control of Chai Jin's troops, consolidating power with threats of execution for dissenters, emboldened by covert support from Song Jiang. In Liangshan, Li Yan Qing intensifies the assault, leading to a devastating fire that destroys the town. Liu Tang, on guard, learns of the chaos and the breach of defenses. He decides to retreat to Xiangjian City, the main stronghold, to regroup and defend against the overwhelming enemy forces. Liu Tang expresses frustration over Wang Ying's lack of support and ignites the beacon fires of Liangshan, signaling for help.
