Summary

After Zhang Xuan defeated Miao Hai Chao's army and restored the Tongji Canal, he returned to Jiang Du, where his reputation soared among the grateful citizens. A young woman in a crimson outfit, Zhang Chuchen, arrived in Jiang Du after parting ways with her companions during her travels in the Western Regions. Tired and seeking a meal, she visited a tavern where she encountered A Yuan, who invited her to meet Lu Qing, Zhang Xuan's wife. In a private room, they shared a meal and discussed Zhang Chuchen's recent travels and current lack of ties to her former home, the Dou residence. Lu Qing invited her to stay in Jiang Du longer, and after some hesitation, Zhang Chuchen accepted the invitation.
