Summary

In Tokyo, 702 prestigious establishments stand out among the city's vast offerings. Huixian Tower, while not the most opulent, offers tranquility and elegant rooms, making it a sought-after location. Liu Yi, a deputy of the Ministry of Justice, visits the tower after years and meets a middle-aged man who discusses a special decree from the Son of Heaven regarding Han Gang, a young official. The man requests Liu Yi to arrange for Han Gang to participate in an imperial examination, despite his prior assignment. Liu Yi realizes the examination is a trap aimed at discrediting Wang Anshi, who secured Han Gang's position. The middle-aged man leaves, and Liu Yi reflects on the political maneuvering at play.
