Summary

Qi Hang awakens in the Dream Ruins, a void connecting deep dream worlds, feeling apprehensive about exploring its vastness. He contemplates the difficulty of finding a passage to another dream realm, akin to locating a star in the cosmos. Despite the odds, he randomly chooses one of four glowing spheres. Meanwhile, in a village, the Grand Elder faces the grim decision of sacrificing a girl named Xing Er to appease a river monster. The villagers seek help from two men, who confront the monster, a turtle, that surprisingly agrees to forgo sacrifices. However, a contract binds the village to provide offerings in exchange for water. As the village suffers from drought, Xing Er, blamed for the situation, ventures to the riverbed. Qi Hang, adjusting to the new world, prepares to leave when a villager approaches him, mistaking him for a savior.
