Summary

In a military stronghold, soldiers of Ma Yi anxiously await orders as they observe campfires signaling an approaching army of 30,000 men led by Liu Wuzhou. Old commander Chen Xi expresses skepticism about Liu's intentions, fearing he might use commoners as fodder to breach their defenses. Despite his frustration with the lack of support from higher-ups, Chen Xi insists on scouting the situation. His team leader warns against the dangers posed by the fierce Zhibibu soldiers nearby. Undeterred, Chen Xi prepares to investigate, emphasizing the importance of protecting their people. He and his team leader ultimately decide to venture out into the night.
