Summary

Upon returning to the inn, Wei Zi updates the group on their efforts to spread a bounty notice, but there’s little hope. Sato Kazuma suggests they should bathe together before leaving, leading to a humorous argument about customs. Their conversation is interrupted by a frantic knock at the door from a guild staff member, who informs them that the town's hot springs are contaminated. Aqua rushes out to purify the springs, and Kobayashi follows her. The next morning, the group discusses the situation, and Aqua deduces that the source of the contamination is likely on the mountain behind the Aqua Sis Church. They plan to investigate the source, but upon reaching the guarded entrance, they are denied access despite Aqua's attempts to prove her identity. Sato Kazuma claims Da Ke Ni Si is a noble, which sways the guards to let them pass. As they climb the mountain, they notice a lack of monsters, creating an uneasy atmosphere. Sato Kazuma grows tired and is playfully reprimanded by Kobayashi for his laziness. Eventually, they reach the contaminated hot spring source, where Aqua attempts to purify the water, enduring burns in the process. After purifying several pipes, they encounter a figure from the bathhouse, later revealed to be Han Si, a mutated poison slime and cadre of the Demon King’s army. The group confronts him, leading to a tense standoff as Sato Kazuma realizes the danger they are in.
