Summary

Yao Shan, stretching over 100 li, is not particularly towering, yet it shows signs of life as spring brings specks of green amidst the withered grasslands. The Black Stone Khanate's soldiers have captured nearly 100,000 human slaves, forced to build fortresses and excavate underground palaces. Among them is Chen Hai, who secretly explores the underground palace while Yao Wenjin, a core figure of the Yao family, experiences a breakthrough in his martial arts training. The labor is harsh, and the slaves suffer under brutal overseers. As a storm approaches, the excavation work halts, and the slaves retreat to their muddy camp, filled with despair.
