Chapter 406: Turning Hostile Faster Than Flipping Pages. [406]
Summary
Wang Ning An is filled with anger while Fu Bi speculates about Ye Lu Zhong Yuan's long-term plotting and potential to seize the throne. Ye Lu Zhong Yuan's army rapidly advances, gathering support from tribes along the way. Xiao Guan Yin expresses confidence in the loyalty of the Khitan tribes to Ye Lu Hong Ji, surprising Wang Ning An with her insights gained from social gatherings. Xiao Guan Yin reveals that Zhong Yuan has significant backing from the monks of Baoji Temple, who could mobilize a large force. Zhong Yuan, meanwhile, boasts about his strategies to defeat Ye Lu Hong Ji but is soon informed of a betrayal by Ye Lu Ren Xian, who has switched allegiance. This sudden turn of events leads to a dramatic shift in power. Zhong Yuan's plans to use Xiao Lu's support also fail as Xiao Lu has pledged loyalty to Ye Lu Hong Ji. As Ye Lu Hong Ji prepares to attack, Zhong Yuan's attempts to mobilize monk soldiers for an ambush fail disastrously, resulting in the loss of 3,000 monk soldiers. The situation becomes increasingly dire for Zhong Yuan, who realizes he must seek help from Mr. Lv as he faces overwhelming odds.Full content
