Chapter 406 Got Calculated (Thanks to Xuan Yuan Yu Ce+) [407]
Summary
Dong Fang Zheng and Old Master Qi, momentarily putting aside their differences, focus on preparing a remedy called Qi Ri Zui after Shen Jiao suggests it. Old Master Qi quickly agrees to gather the necessary herbs, which he has at home. Upon arriving at his traditional courtyard house, they encounter his second concubine, Qi Yu Xi, causing tension as Dong Fang Zheng accuses her of inappropriate behavior. Despite her pleas, the atmosphere remains charged with suspicion. Shen Jiao prepares the Seven-Day Drunk, a concoction she is familiar with, and successfully demonstrates its effects on a cat, impressing Old Master Qi and Dong Fang Zheng. However, Shen Jiao grows wary of the second concubine, suspecting her involvement in past plots against them. During a discussion at a restaurant, Dong Fang Zheng recalls being drugged, but Old Master Qi defends his wife, leading to a heated argument. Shen Jiao proposes to investigate the matter discreetly, and Old Master Qi reluctantly agrees, eager to uncover the truth. The chapter ends with Dong Fang Zheng expressing his anger towards the second concubine while Han De Fu mocks him.Full content
