Summary

Ai Hui travels to Qian Cao City, a small border town that has become desolate due to the decline of smuggling. The city is on high alert due to recent banditry, with defensive ancient trees providing protection. Ai Hui, unaware of the commotion he causes upon arrival, finds himself in an eerie silence as the townspeople panic and flee upon seeing him. Later, he visits his sister Mingxiu's embroidery workshop, where she scolds him for his impulsive behavior and the fear he instills in others. Despite the tension, Ai Hui helps out in the workshop, evoking memories of their past and the warmth of family.
