Summary

In a quiet hotel in the capital, Tang Mu Si admires a sandalwood Maitreya statue, while his translator, Ye Zi, feels humiliated and plots revenge. She performs a dark ritual to summon a spirit, while an old Daoist attempts to steal the Maitreya. Chaos ensues as Tang Mu Si, possessed, opens the safe, leading to a confrontation with the Daoist. As the hotel plunges into darkness, Ye Zi senses danger, and a fight breaks out.
