Summary

The chapter follows Zhang Xuan, Su Dingfang, and Su Erniang as they visit a residence for sale in the capital. Su Erniang informs Zhang that Young Master Meng is waiting for them to discuss the house, which is spacious but modest compared to neighboring properties. As they arrive, they meet Mai Meng Cai, the son of a famous general, who expresses admiration for Zhang Xuan. They tour the house, which was previously owned by a concubine and is now being sold by Meng Cai's mother to fund a new manor. After some negotiation, Zhang Xuan decides to purchase the residence for five hundred taels of gold, appreciating the fair deal and the connection to Meng Cai's family.
