Summary

The story takes place on mining planet 69823 in the Ma Fa star system, where mechanical trucks navigate around giant green mushrooms. The town, a chaotic mining area, is home to miners who indulge in drinking at bars after long labor. The largest bar, known as the V Bar, is owned by a beautiful woman, the Fourteenth Aunt, who is caught in a precarious situation. She was captured and is now being pursued by Captain Hendro, who wishes to keep her as a secret lover. Despite her circumstances, she clings to hope that a figure from her past, Old Shuai, will rescue her. Meanwhile, Pa Lao, a sailor, tries to persuade her to comply with Hendro's wishes, but she remains fearful and uncertain about her fate.
