The Legend of Situ Shankong.
Chapter 40: Direct Confrontation. [40]
Summary
In a haunting encounter, the narrator experiences his first direct confrontation with ghosts in Wang Lao Tai's house. Initially perceiving supernatural events indirectly, he now faces three distinct apparitions: an old woman who disperses like black mist after being struck, and a grotesque female and male ghost with horrifying physical deformities. Using the Ziwai Wei technique learned from his master, he successfully repels the two main ghosts by causing them to spark and vanish. Just as he feels triumphant, he feels a mysterious scratching sensation at the back of his neck, suggesting the supernatural threat might not be entirely eliminated.Full content
