Summary

Ning Qiushui emerges victorious over Chu Zhu, who, along with his subordinates, dares not oppose him. As time runs out, Ning Qiushui reflects on his motivations for helping Hong You, primarily a desire to confront Chen Shouxi. After failing to reach Fang Shan, he learns from Sheriff Wang Qi that Fang Shan is weak and in danger. Realizing the sheriff's power and his own vulnerability, Ning Qiushui contemplates a plan to trap the sheriff, who has a critical weakness: he must consume a heart daily to survive. The chapter ends with Ning Qiushui recalling a peculiar bronze mirror that could aid in his scheme.
