Summary

In a bustling tavern, Jia Huan retrieves a letter from Lin Ru Hai to Ji Xing Sheng, unaware of the latter's dissatisfaction with him. Ji Xing Sheng, the Jinling prefect, expresses displeasure at Jia Huan's lack of respect but softens upon receiving the letter. He reminisces about his friendship with Lin Ru Hai, evoking tears from Dai Yu. Ji Xing Sheng warns Jia Huan to treat Dai Yu well, which he assures he will. Later, at the Outer Jin River Gate Wharf, Jia Huan is seen off by numerous scholars and officials, highlighting his connections and status as the brother of an imperial concubine. Amidst warm farewells, he promises to host them in the Capital.
