Chapter 390: Proposal to Move the Capital. [390]
Summary
The imperial palace of the Great Song Dynasty is contaminated with lead pipes, causing the death of many children, including those of Emperor Zhao Zhen. The lead pipes were buried underground over a hundred years ago, and it's discovered that there are many more pipes hidden beneath the palace. Emperor Zhao Zhen decides to clear out the pipes, but it's a massive undertaking that requires relocating the entire palace. The cost of rebuilding the palace is estimated to be at least 300 million taels, which is a staggering amount. The officials are unable to come up with a solution, and Emperor Zhao Zhen is determined to build a new palace, even if it means moving the capital.Full content
