Summary

On Yuan Xi night, a coachman is stopped by a leader due to orders to search for spies from the Demon Race. After a charming maid offers a bribe, they are allowed to leave, but are soon ambushed by Fan Zhong Yong and the Death Book Scholar, who detect demon energy. An explosive confrontation ensues, revealing the captured demon as a clone. Despite catching eight clones, Fan Zhong Yong realizes that the real Nine-headed Insect remains in the city, planning a coordinated attack on Chaozhou with its forces. Meanwhile, the Nine-headed Insect taunts Lin Xing He, revealing its cunning plot to breach the city while Du Yu is misled elsewhere.
