Summary

Leng Qing suffered severe injuries, leading to a frantic search for help in Ningzhou City. After failing to find her outside the county office, the protagonist discovered her in an abandoned courtyard, bloodied and unconscious. Despite his urgency, a drunkard and an indifferent tavern waiter hindered his quest for a doctor. Eventually, he coerced a doctor to assist her, but time was against them. As Leng Qing lay dying, she expressed her happiness in knowing he would avenge her. Overwhelmed by regret for not acting sooner, he helplessly watched her pass away, burdened by the weight of his inaction.
