Chapter 39: Li Jing's Second Campaign Against Huaguo Mountain. [39]
Summary
The Flower-Fruit Mountain is alive with excitement as Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal To Heaven, returns, drawing numerous demon kings to celebrate. His defiance of the Heavenly Court makes him a mythical figure, inspiring both admiration and fear among demons. However, when celestial soldiers arrive, many of Wukong's allies flee, leaving him to confront the threat alone. As celestial forces surround the mountain, a tense exchange occurs between Wukong and Li Jing, the Great Master, who is furious at Wukong's mockery. Despite the bravado, celestial soldiers are reluctant to engage, revealing their fear and discontent towards Li Jing's leadership. The chapter ends with the tension unresolved, setting the stage for the next conflict.Full content
