Summary

Tonight is the Shuwang's banquet, where Li Yi plans a brief appearance to avoid embarrassment. He is preparing for lessons when his maid, Xiao Huan, brings him clothes and curiously observes his writing. The Shuwang, the emperor's eldest son, is a prominent figure in Kyoto, cultivating influence and rumored to be the future crown prince. Li Yi feels the pressure of attending the banquet, aware of the Shuwang's power. Upon arrival, he learns that bringing gifts is customary, a rule he was unaware of, but he decides to enter without one. Liu Er Xiao, his bodyguard, must leave her sword outside due to royal regulations. The servant doubts Li Yi's status, questioning why the Shuwang would invite him.
