Chapter 373: The Sea Monster's Revenge and Zhu Jiao's End. [372]
Summary
In this chapter, the Ghost Shark goes into a bloodthirsty frenzy upon encountering an opponent, prompting Orson to intervene. Despite his efforts, the Ghost Shark remains uncontrollable until Scati holds her back, urging her to recognize her own strength and defend her soul. The Bishop, now transformed into a monstrous figure due to the injection of a powerful reagent, attacks the two hunters. They struggle against him as he boasts of his newfound power from source stones. Orson realizes that the Bishop’s strength comes from a dangerous mix of mutations and source stones. He understands that their fight is against a being that has merged land-based power with deep-sea traits. Both Scati and the Ghost Shark are severely injured during the battle as they confront the Bishop’s overwhelming tentacles. In a desperate move, Orson sacrifices some of his blood to awaken an army of deep-sea monsters, which he commands to attack the Bishop. Miraculously, instead of turning on him, these monsters obey and devour the Bishop, who realizes too late that he is being consumed. Once the Bishop is reduced to mere flesh and bone, the sea monsters begin to deteriorate due to their unsustainable nature on land. After the chaos, the chapter reveals Orson's confusion and newfound power over the sea monsters through bloodline connection. Scati expresses concern for Orson's well-being, while the Ghost Shark reflects on the Bishop’s motivations for seeking power. She reveals that his pursuit was a means to reach a place referred to as "the promised end of all things," which drives home the concepts of ambition and sacrifice within the narrative.Full content
