Summary

Zero steps onto the Celestial Sacrifice Platform, noticing decay where starlight touches him. He realizes that if he decays, others from this world would too, as they lack his adaptive abilities. Encountering free electron state life forms, or "ghosts," he destroys one with his advanced gun. As more surround him, he launches an energy attack, annihilating them. A condensed electron state life form appears, more powerful than the ghosts. Zero transforms to evade its attack and engages in a battle of wits, using an electromagnetic net to bind the creature before attempting a technological soul-searching technique.
