Summary

The chapter describes a tense encounter between Lu Chen, A Tu, and a massive wolf in a snowy canyon. Initially, a swarm of bats is silenced as they witness one of their own being devoured by the wolf, which then turns its attention to the fallen bats. Lu Chen and A Tu, lying in the snow, are paralyzed with fear as the wolf feasts. Lu Chen feels defenseless against the creature's power and hopes for an escape. A Tu, however, becomes fixated on the wolf and approaches it, despite Lu Chen's attempts to restrain him. The wolf observes A Tu with indifference, and Lu Chen notices a strange resemblance between them, heightening the tension of the moment.
