Summary

Li Yan Qing and Yang Liang journey through snow-covered Jingxing to Zhen Ding Prefecture, then head south to Xiang Prefecture. They arrive at Cizhou Han Dan County, where they find the streets bustling with New Year activities. Choosing to stay at the Old Xu Inn, they secure a private courtyard for their military horses due to security concerns. The innkeeper informs them about the recent chaos caused by the Liangshan bandits invading Daming Prefecture. Later that night, Li Yan Qing is awakened by cries of distress and learns that bandits have attacked the inn. He prepares for confrontation, and when bandits burst in, he swiftly kills one and begins to strategize with the innkeeper and Yang Liang to defend against the threat.
