Chapter 366: The Heart's Desire - Universal Harmony (Part 2). [397]

Summary

Everyone can become a Yao or Shun, this is the way of the Dao. Ning Yi has grand ideals but also some dangers involved. He gathered literati in the Ba Dao camp, assigning them to write articles in exchange for food, which preserved many lives. However, the quality of the articles was poor. Ning Yi endured humiliation and protected many people, exhibiting the spirit of a sage. Wen Ren Bu Er collected the articles, which unexpectedly drew Qin Si Yuan's attention. Yao Zu Nian believes the articles might be useful, as they aim to touch upon something beyond mere hearts. Ning Yi's actions in the Ba Dao camp may seem trivial, but the interconnectedness of these matters is not something a single person can comprehend in just a year or two. Ning Yi's past is mysterious, having claimed amnesia and disconnection from his Confucian scholar identity. However, his sudden enlightenment and effortless composition of poetry and prose raise questions. It is possible that he figured something out and gained clarity, rather than becoming enlightened. His demeanor appears as if he is two completely different people.
